You still need to be perfctly in line with the part for which you're gonna cut the hole, because if you're not at the right angle you just used a laser to cut a hole in the wrong location despite having that cross centered with your part.

Measure once, cut once, realize you goofed up, yell fuck a few times, try to make it work, realize you goofed REALLY bad, trip to the hardware store, watch an instructional video, cut again, fix the issue.

The hood is tilted and has some thickness so not that accurate
@McTugNuts Aug 14, 2026
This guy doesnt know what the fuck he's talking about, go back to your day job
@EpicEra85 Aug 14, 2026
who needs a hood???
@doctaroctaka328 Aug 14, 2026
The angle of the laser and the dropped hood move that laser point more towards the bumper. That laser needs to be directly overhead
@thecountryog Aug 14, 2026
Yes but the laser needs to match the Engle of the inlet.
@EternityForest Aug 13, 2026
It only works if the laser beam is in line with the hole you want, I wonder how they get it lined up? I guess with an digital angle finder on the pipe?
@chrisc765 Aug 13, 2026
with me its like measure 12x cut twice. I forget and then fuck the cut up
@dominator-tc8ik Aug 12, 2026
great until the end. would've been super simple to attach a marker of some sort in the center of the tape so when you close the hood, it...marks it. don't even need the lasers. cool, until the end.
