In NSW you can't sell number plates and can only transfer them to family members.
You can, however, transfer your valuable plate to a shitbox and then sell the shitbox.

Emoji, there are people out here in Australia with weird number plates covered in football teams, or Leppard print, or fluro colours, it’s endless
